Zhwand Charity Foundation

Educating those who are most at risk and relieving poverty are our primary objectives in Afghanistan. Having the support of our donors has enabled us to do so much, and our transparency approach ensures that all donations reach those in need.

"At Zhwand, our mission is to alleviate the devastating effects of the ongoing food crisis and poverty in Afghanistan, particularly in light of the current crises the country is facing. As stated by the United Nations and the World Health Organization, Afghanistan is immersed in one of the world's largest humanitarian crises. After the Taliban takeover in August 2021, international funding and support have depleted, leaving over half of the population unemployed and hunger spreading rapidly.

At Zhwand, we recognize the broader challenges faced by Afghanistan, including illiteracy, unemployment, lack of basic amenities, and limited access to healthcare and education. We aim to address these issues through our focus on providing access to healthcare, education, and poverty alleviation initiatives, with a particular emphasis on rural areas where approximately 80% of the population resides.

Transparency is of utmost importance to us. We will provide regular updates, including pictures and videos, to show how your donations are being utilized. If you choose to support a family on a monthly basis, we will facilitate communication between you and the family you are assisting.

At the Zhwand Charity Foundation, our commitment is unwavering: to bring relief and support to widows, orphans, and the needy in our target regions of Afghanistan.

The current humanitarian predicament, exacerbated since the Taliban's ascendancy, paints a distressing picture. A crippling economy, rampant job losses, and spiraling prices have pushed millions into the dire straits of hunger and poverty.

Our localized interventions aim to address acute malnutrition that has now surpassed alarming levels in many regions. Over the next year, a significant number of children under five, along with pregnant and breastfeeding mothers, face a pressing need for nutritional and general support.

As the cold winds of winter begin to stir, the urgency of our mission becomes ever clearer. Certain areas risk being isolated, and our foundation seeks to be ahead of the curve, ensuring that essential supplies and aid are in place. While our heart beats for every suffering soul, our focused approach means we prioritize widows, orphans, and the most vulnerable. Yet, to truly make a mark, we need strong pillars of support.
