At Zhwand, our mission is to alleviate the devastating effects of the ongoing food crisis and poverty in Afghanistan, particularly in light of the current crises the country is facing. As stated by the United Nations and the World Health Organization, Afghanistan is immersed in one of the world's largest humanitarian crises. After the fall of Kabul in August 2021, international funding and support have depleted, leaving over half of the population unemployed and hunger spreading rapidly.
We are helping to provide immediate relief by raising donations dedicated to supporting those on the brink of starvation. Our goal is to assist 200 vulnerable families by offering food survival packages, each designed to sustain a small family. These packages include essential items such as flour, sugar, tea, beans, and oil, which are estimated to cost $50 USD.
To ensure the effective distribution of aid, our organization, run by dedicated volunteers and in collaboration with grassroots networks, will purchase and distribute the packages to the families in the most dire need. By contributing, you can be the reason why a family survives starvation and overcomes unimaginable circumstances.
